35L Car Refrigerator for Tesla Model Y

My wife has had this fridge in her Tesla for almost two years now, and she uses it for so many reasons we didn't initially expect. Now that she has it, she can go grocery shopping during her lunch break rather than after work, which allows her to get home much earlier. She also travels for overnight dance competitions with our daughters and can pack cold items instead of buying them, not to mention how great it is to have cold drinks waiting at the car after we go mountain biking.

We have used electric coolers before, but they always took up half the cargo area. The best part of this fridge is that it is compact and designed to fit discreetly in the sub-trunk. You can’t even see it, and you lose zero trunk space. Installation is easy, and it fits securely with no movement while driving. While you can find cheaper ways to keep food cold, we found this investment more than pays for itself by offering a large capacity without sacrificing any of our storage space.

I've backed this when Tesfridge had them on Kickstarter. I received it on September of 2023, just in time for my first child to start her college 400 miles from home.

Tesfridge came in handy when we had to transport home made foods to her dorm at the beginning of each quarter. We'd freeze soups into an block of ice and Tesfridge ensure that they stay frozen during 7 hour drive. Additionally, we'd do some grocery shopping and keep them frozen for few days before driving back home. Tesfridge comes in handy even for local grocery shopping during the hot summer days here in Sacramento.

Although I wish it had more capacity at times, I know that Model Y's sub-trunk is being utilized at maximum capacity and couldn't get any bigger. Using it with trunk full of stuff also posed some challenges accessing the fidge under the trunk but I don't find it Tesfridge's fault.

Contrary to what others have commented, I found connecting fridge to the app was easy. I wish there was a way for me to turn on the fridge from the app though. App connects to the fridge only when it's on. In order for you to turn it on to pre-cool while you are driving to the grocery stores is not possible unless you remembered to turn it on before you start driving.

One of the results of getting an electric car, Tesla in my case, is that you don't stop at gas stations to pick up drinks and snacks along the way. This cooler designed for the Tesla Y is a perfect solution. I always keep some waters a few drinks and a couple of snacks handy. Energy use is not an issue for me. I drive less than 100 miles a day.

The fridge works fine, I live in Texas so it takes a bit to get cool but it does. One concern is in the summer the temp around the fridge, when it sits in the false trunk and the false trunk lid is down, gets pretty hot where the fridge pump it (like 180 degrees), so thats a bit unnerving.

Great product. Have two of these; they are very convenient, reliable, and the company stands behind their product. The first one I bought had an issue after 2 years, and they sent me parts to fix it at no cost. Both are now in use 24/7 in our two LRMYs, resulting in very little battery use.
